We do our best for your animals:
customised milk replacer for every growth phase.

Bavaria is internationally known as the land of happy cows, lush mountain pastures, and high-quality milk. Few things are as deeply woven into the customs and traditions of our country as the connection to livestock farming. With this tradition and our now 50 years of experience with milk replacers, we create products that offer exactly what your young animals need for the different life stages and what you need to achieve your breeding objectives.

The biggest advantage over milk from your own farm: you know exactly what’s in it.
With our milk replacers made in Bavaria, you know exactly what the young animals are getting down to the milligram: minerals, vitamins, and vital trace elements – or even probiotics. Young animals need various things for robust health and strong growth. However, a farm’s own milk supply can vary in content and quality, Egenberger milk replacer is consistent in quality and performance, reliable high quality feed is the best diet for young animals to grow and thrive.

Feeding recommendation

1st to 3rd day of life: Colostrum

Colostrum is the basis for successful calf rearing. A calf should be fed at least 3 litres of high-quality colostrum within 2 hours of birth (preferably by suckling)

From the 3rd day of life: clean, fresh water

From the 3rd day, clean, fresh water should always be available to the young calf, as it needs additional water in its diet despite a purely liquid diet.
This becomes even more important when the calf switches to solid food and later in life.

From day 4 of life: milk replacer 145-160 g/l drink

(Example 145g to 855 ml water = ready-made drink)

Calf muesli/solid feed and high-quality hay should be offered from the 5th week and increased continuously. In this way only, the calf is able to realise its potential, as the leptin balance is not disturbed. As soon as calves have an appreciable solid feed intake (after approx. 10 weeks), you can start to reduce the amount of feed so that the feeding phase is completed at approx. 15-16 weeks.

We recommend a CMR concentration of 150 g to 850 ml water.

Mixing temperature: 42°-45°C
Feeding temperature: 38°-39°C

Advice
  • Start Egenberger CMR  from the 4th day of life; the calves should consume 1-2 kg per head per day.
  • Clean roughage should be offered at raised feeding stations to stimulate rumination.
  • Clean, dry bedding must be maintained to optimise calf health and performance.
  • The maximum portion size at one feeding is 3-4 litres. Intensive feeding systems may require smaller portions more frequently. Concentration may need to be adjusted to achieve targets.
  • Consistently hygienic feeding equipment is essential for calf health and performance.
  • Regular calibration of automatic feeders/measuring spoons is recommended.
  • Standardised feeding times, temperatures, concentrations and quantities of milk replacer reduce the risk of digestive disorders. All dietary changes must be gradual to avoid digestive upsets.
